친구들은 나이가 많고

겨울만치나 뻑뻑하여

넘어졌다 하면 부러지고

걸렸다 하면 독감이니

 

겨울이 두렵고

쏟아지는 눈이 심상치 않으며

찬바람이 징징거릴 때

친구에게 가는 길이 점점 좁아지고 멀기만 하네

 

작년 겨울에도 뜻밖의 비보를 연달아 접하면서

아는 사람 다섯분이 순식간에 지상에서 사라져

남아있는 이들을 비통케 했고 허무하게 하면서

서로 안부 전화 걸기를 서슴지 않았는데

 

허리 수술한 사람이 넘어져 자리에 눕고

성당에 매일 나가는 사람이 콧물 기침 감기로 몸져누워

해마다 슈퍼 볼 게임을 사오십 명이 같이 즐겼는데

세월의 무상함이 잘 드러나는 한편의 산문시 잘 감상했습니다
