빼앗긴 봄/배 중진

 

흰 눈이 내리지 않은 겨울이 

후딱 지나가

겨울을 빼앗긴 듯했는데

 

봄이 왔는데도

또 송두리째 탈취당한 듯한 느낌이다

개나리는 서로의 안전거리를 유지하려는 듯 드문드문 피었고

일찍 찾아온 목련은 뭔가 못마땅한지 입을 꾹 다물고 있으며

생각지도 않은 튤립이 마른 땅에 엉성한 모습이다

크로커스와 도도한 수선화가 서로의 아름다움을 뽐내지만

우리네의 마음은 열릴 줄을 모른다

자연에 동화되어 같이 즐길 줄을 모른다

 

어둠이 내리깔리면

인적도 감쪽같이 사라지고

쥐새끼조차도 두려워 나서지 않는다

 

얼마나 오랫동안 숨죽여가며 살아가야 하나

인간끼리가 두려움의 존재가 되었고

부딪히지 않고 피하는 것이 예의이며

눈으로만 인사하는 비정상이 정상이 되었다

 

그렇다고 여름까지 탈탈 털려서는 정말 안 될 일이다

1886: Haymarket riots

As the policemen tried to break up a peaceful labor protest in Haymarket Square of Chicago, Illinois, U.S.,
a bomb was hurled at them as a result of which they opened gun fire. At least 10 lives were lost in the
resulting chaos and violence.

1932: Al Capone imprisoned

Mobster Al Capone, convicted of income-tax evasion, entered the federal penitentiary in Atlanta.
(Capone was later transferred to Alcatraz Island.)

1942: Battle of the Coral Sea starts

This four-day battle in the Pacific Theater of World War II witnessed the use of aircraft carriers for the
first time. Fought between the Imperial Japanese Navy and naval and air forces of the U.S. and Australia,
it was the first instance after the start of the war in which Japan’s advance was checked by the Allies.

1945: Germans surrender at Lüneburg Heath

German forces — in the Netherlands, in northwest Germany and in Denmark — and their naval ships
in those areas surrendered unconditionally to the allied forces led by British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery
at his headquarters in Wendisch Evern.

1959: First Grammy Awards

The first Grammy Awards ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Domenico Modugno won
Record of the Year and Song of the Year for 'Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare)'; and Henry Mancini won

1968: The Oroville Dam dedicated

The Oroville Dam in Northern California was dedicated by Gov. Ronald Reagan. The 770-foot-tall
earth-filled structure, a pet project of Reagan’s predecessor, Pat Brown, remains the tallest dam
in the United States, but was also the scene of a near disaster in February 2017 when two spillways
collapsed, threatening for a time to flood parts of three counties in the Sierra Nevada foothills.

1994: Peace accord for Palestinian self-rule

Granting self-rule in the Palestinian territories of Gaza Strip and Jericho in accordance with the
Oslo Accords, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin (3rd L) signed an accord with
Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) leader Yasser Arafat (C).

1995: Longest MLB strike ends

Players agreed to end Major League Baseball's longest strike in history,
after Federal judge ordered injunction against team owners.

1997: Pioneer 10 last day in its mission

The longest-running space program of the United States' came to an end,
which began over twenty-five years ago as NASA received the last data transmission.
Pioneer was the first spacecraft to fly to Jupiter, Saturn and is the first to cross the
asteroid belt in 1972. Pioneer 10 is also considered the first emissary into space.

1998: Unabomber Sentenced

Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski was given four life sentences plus 30 years by a federal judge in
Sacramento, California, under a plea agreement that spared him the death penalty.

Terri Schiavo, 41, died at a hospice in Pinellas Park, Florida,

2014: Japan accepts Whaling ban

Japan accepted the International Court of Justice ruling to halt its whaling programme in the Antarctic.
The case was filed by Australia in May 2010, that the programme was not for scientific research as
claimed by Tokyo. In 2018, Japan announced that it will resume commercial whale hunt in its territorial water.

요사이는 몸에 병 없기를 간절히 소망한답니다. 세상이 하 어수선하여 가진 것 없는 사람이
몸이라도 건강하여야 하는데 사방에서 신음이 무척 크게 들려오고 그것도 울부짖고 있으니
이런 세상이 빨리 사라지기를 기원하지요. 이 또한 지나가리라 생각도 하지만 피해 없이
건강하게 지나갔으면 하네요. 어쩌다가 우리 세대에 이런 불상사, 역병이 창궐하게 되었는지요.
안타깝고 후세사람들은 단 몇 줄로 우리의 아픔을 표현하게 될는지요. 좋은 말씀 음미하게 되어
감사드립니다. 더욱 건강하시기 바랍니다.
