무차별 대학살극이 또 벌어졌다
불특정 다수를 상대로 난사하여
비극적 사건이며 충격적이다
잔인한 오락을 즐기는 아이들이 많고
매우 자기중심적이며
미국에서 유행처럼 번지는
고질적인 사회문제가 되었다
자신만이 아닌 남을 생각하고
친구와 이웃을 위하여 기도를 드리고
참다운 정의를 행동으로 옮기면
더 아름다운 사회가 되겠지만
악마의 저주를 받아
심신 미약한 비열한 자들이 난동을 부리고 있다
평화의 종소리는
과연 누구를 위하여 울리려는가

매미에게도 우린 인간세계와 같은 복잡함이 있을까 생각해봤답니다.
때가 되면 나오고 구애하고 열심히 시원한 소리로 목청을 돋우다가
자연스레 사라지는 그들에 비해 많은 사건으로 얼룩진 나날을 맞이하면서
살아가는 것이 신기하다는 평이지요. 운이 좋아야 하고 주위에서 참혹한
사건이 일어나지 않았으면 하지만 별, 이상한 사람들이 튀어나와
세상을 엉망으로 만드네요. 먹고 살기 위해 불철주야로 달릴 때는 몰랐는데
매우 한가한 요즈음 모든 이들의 안위가 염려되는 세상이 되었으니
한스러울 지경이네요. 평화가 모두에게 있었으면 바람이랍니다.

**이 세상을 여는 작은 창**
우리는 우리 스스로를 가둬 놓고 살고 있습니다.
서로를 못 믿으니까 마음의 문을
꼭꼭 걸어 잠그고
스스로 감옥에 갇혀 살고 있습니다.
사랑의 눈으로 마음의 문을 열면
세상은 더욱 넓어 보입니다.
세상은 아름답게 보입니다.
내가 마음의 문을 닫아 버리면
세상은 나를 가두고 세상을 닫아 버립니다.
내가 마음의 문을 열고 세상으로 향하면
세상은 내게로 다가와
나를 열고 넓게 펼쳐 집니다.
내가 있으면 세상이 있고

분명 세상의 주인은 그 누구도 아닌 나 자신입니다.
내가 더 마음의 상처를 입었어도
먼저 용서하고 마음을 열고 다가가는
아름다운 화해의 정신으로
이 세상을 여는 작은 창이 되었으면 좋겠습니다.

항상 긍정적으로 사는 사람은 자신은 모르지만 옆에서 보면 얼굴에 멋진 주름이
쌓여가는 것을 볼 수 있고 느낄 수도 있더군요. 그런 분을 만나면 저도 절로
기분이 좋아 많은 대화를 가능하면 나누려고 노력하고 배울 점을 찾게 되더군요.
